Welcome to West Frankfort First Baptist
Here you will find a warm group of people discovering
what it means to follow Jesus and find their purpose.
We would love to meet you someday.
FBC Family & Friends
I think it’s safe to say that we are all tired of dealing with the CORONAVIRUS and everything associated with it.
Just as we started to turn some corners and begin moving towards a new “normal”, the virus has once again raised it’s ugly head and is making a come-back in our area. Case numbers and hospitalizations in our region have been increasing at an alarming rate
and cannot be ignored.
The past 2 Sunday’s our worship attendance has been reduced for 2 basic reasons. We have church members and worship attenders;
– quarantining due to exposure
– staying home to prevent possible exposure.
The deacons, brother Barry and I have had several conversations as to how we should respond as a church to what is taking place in our community. After praying and considering all options, we feel it is in the best interest of our church family to suspend our corporate worship for the remainder of November in hopes that the virus numbers will begin to move in a positive direction. That means we will NOT have our 10:00am worship service on 11/22 or 11/29. (Worship services WILL be available on our church website for both Sunday’s) We plan to resume meeting again on Sunday December 6.
It is our hope that you will understand why the decision has been made and be supportive of the steps being taken. We believe that this is the safest thing to do at this critical time. The one thing we can all do is PRAY. So let’s join together in the coming days and do that.
PRAY for your church, leadership, members and friends.
PRAY and ask God to remove this virus!
In the meantime, continue to look for opportunities to SERVE your community and make a difference for the kingdom!
I am thankful to have the opportunity to serve YOU.
Pastor John.
